Whether you are an established player, a weekly hacker or someone totally new to the game HLTSC is the ideal club to meet your tennis playing needs.

We have over 650 tennis playing members plus excellent facilities which include 4 indoor acrylic hardcourts, 4 floodlit artificial grass courts, 1 all weather acrylic hard court and 1 porous macadam court.

Our tennis coaches offer tennis coaching on an individual and group basis for all ages and abilities.

I began my coaching career at Batley Sports and Tennis Centre working mainly with Mini Tennis. Since moving to Huddersfield Tennis & Squash Club I have gained experience with all ages.

Most of my work now involves going into the local infant and junior schools introducing tennis to children. When i’m not in a school, i’m planning internal competitions for Mini’s, Junior’s and Adults or coaching the ladies team players.

Now as a Level 4 Performance Coach I am able to work with players of all standards. Who knows one day I may find the next Wimbledon Champion the country has been waiting years for!

I have worked at Huddersfield for over 5 years full time . Before starting at Huddersfield, I studied BSc Health & Sport Studies at Huddersfield University where I achieved a 2:1.

Initially my main area of work was within Mini Tennis but over time this has progressed to more of the Junior and Adult Programme. I enjoy working with all ages and get different satisfactions from working with different ages and abilities.I also run the box leagues and captain some of the men’s teams.

I initially started coaching because of my love for the game and because I enjoyed playing and competing so much. Although I don’t play quite as often these days , I still love playing when I get chance.

I am looking forward to being part of the new coaching team and making the Tennis Programme more successful .

My name is Kate Mallin and I am 21 years old. I live in Honley with my Mum, Dad and sister Hannah who are all keen tennis players.
I started playing tennis when I was 6 years old. Between the ages of 9 and 15 I played tournaments most weekends, and during that time represented Yorkshire.
I am a keen footballer and since the age of 11 I have played for Huddersfield Town Ladies FC. I now play every Sunday for their first team in the Women's North East Premier Division. I also play for the West Riding County Representative team.

In July 2010 I passed my Level 3 coaching course and I am available for private lessons as well as a hitting partner for the more advanced players. Most of my work at the club is with the Mini Tennis players, and I believe that I give lessons which are both disciplined and fun, so allowing my pupils to learn and enjoy the game at the same time.

With the experience I have gained in both tennis and football, I understand the necessary competitive nature of sport, but believe that above all, you should try to enjoy it. Enjoyment of any game helps players to relax and therefore gain better results.

I have worked as a coach for ten years and have gained experience in all areas of coaching from aged 3 to 70! Previous to this job I have worked at Thongsbridge Tennis club in charge of their mini tennis programme. During my time at Thongsbridge I worked with county, regional and national mini tennis players age 5 - 10. Other areas of my job included teaching tiny tots aged 3 and up, mini tennis players and juniors, adults of all standards, running tennis trips for all, organising competitions and social events.
As part of the new coaching team I will continue with all areas of work that I have done in the past and more. Main areas will include running a quality programme and introducing new tennis groups for all ages and abilities. Coaching group and individual lessons, all levels and ages.
Also with the rest of the team we will aim to deliver a professional Coaching programme, which will include more adult courses and events. More adult competition and interaction between squash tennis and Gym members.
