Padel

Huddersfield Lawn Tennis and Squash Club is one of the first clubs in the country to offer Padel.

What is Padel?

  • A mixture of tennis, squash, and racketball, played outdoors in doubles format. Sometimes incorrectly spelt paddle.
  • The court is two thirds the size of a tennis court and enclosed with wire mesh.
  • The walls at either ends are glass which you can play off when you need to.
  • Scoring is the same as in tennis but with underarm serving – easy!

What are the benefits?

  • Easy to play for all ages and abilities
  • Rapid learning curve with low emphasis on technical skills/power
  • Smaller enclosed court means play is continuous
  • Played as doubles it is very sociable and between four is inexpensive
  • Great aerobic work out
  • Padel is great fun - every time
